What is the best type of doctor to see if you have tmj? (pain management, internal med, etc.)?

MAXIOFACIAL SURGEON, that's the type of doctor I am going to see for my TMJ. I was referred to by my primary physician.
My father sees an oral surgeon for his TMJ.

A dental specialist or an osteopath could help.
