Pain in pelvic area? Are they Contractions? |
Im 35 weeks pregnant and lately ive been experiencing some harsh cramping around my pelvis area. Im kinda confused on if they are contractions or not since contractions usually arent coming from that area. Can any else relate to this happening them at this stage in pregnancy? Could they be contractions or what else? Likely you are experiencing pressure from the weight of the uterus. This is probably normal yet you should mention it to your Dr. He/She may want to do an internal exam or send you for a fetal assesment to make sure labour isn't starting. Try to take things easy, rest, drink plenty of fluids and don't lift anything heavy. it's probably just the baby pushing down into the birth canal and means that labor could be getting closer the more down the baby pushes please give your doctor a call and tell him what you are feeling done there In the pelvic area it's probably pain from the baby's head engaging and not contractions. Contractions feel more like hard mestrual cramps that radiate. They could be braxton hicks contractions - I used to get them at night toward the end of my pregnancy. If they don't get more intense and regular, they are probably just BH. But call your OBGYN and relate the info, they can give your their professional opinion. It could be contractions. It could also be your uterus stretching, which can be pretty uncomfortable too. You should tell your doctor though, because I felt pain like that when I was pregnant also and it turned out that I was getting a bladder infection. Tell your doc the next time you go about the pains and they can check it out for you. In the mean time, drink alot of water, more than usual. This will flush out any bad bacteria if you have any and it also helps muscle pains go away. Congrats and good luck!! Usually the braxton hicks contractions are felt in your lower back and around to your lower abdomen... for me they have been quite painful... sometimes i get really sharp pains shooting into my vagina. I am now one day past due :-( Nope, contractions feel light your stomach is tightening up. Kinda like cramps |
