Sharp, stabbing pain in low pelvic area?

I'm currently 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant and scheduled to be induced Monday morning. I have contractions about every 30 minutes but I have terrible ripping/stabbing pain in low pelvic area. It actually feels like the baby is pushing her way and out ripping, although people told me you can't really feel this happening. What is it? Oh, and the baby dropped quite a while ago and the doctor said yesterday that I was 2cm dilated and 90% effaced.

Might be labor... might be a bladder infection. If you feel like it's mostly on your RIGHT side the ripping and pain, then it's a bladder infection. How do I know? I'm 38 weeks and 3 days and was told today by my doctor that I have to start taking antibiotics immediately because of being induced on Tuesday. They just want to make sure I'm not going to be induced and be in even more pain, possibly hurt my bladder even more.

But your getting there for labor, congrats and good luck on it soon. Hopefully it's labor! But remember if the contractions aren't more than 6 in an hour, or your water breaks then go to the hospital... OR if your contractions are steady for an hour and with changing positions and drinking water they do NOT go away... then it's time to get to the hospital! Good Luck!

U have to go to the hospital and find out

Go to the hospital and see what they say..

The baby's head is pressed so firmly against your cervix that it is sore from being pushed on and when the baby turns its head you get this stabbing pain. You may also get a horrible feeling when it's hands go up to its face or above its head. It is ok. I have had 4 babies and I hate this feeling, hate, hate, hate it, but I get it everytime. I am so happy for you that the baby is that close though because I think that labor will be easy for you.

I would head to the hospital soon, have them check you out.

It might be labor. Go to the hospital to get checked out just to be on the safe side.
