I'm having extreme pelvic pain during my 2nd pregnancy, I'm 33 weeks any suggestions?

I've been having it for about 3 weeks on and off but this past week its so bad i can barely walk or get in and out of the bed. I normally sleep on my left side but i do roll over during the night, but lately it hurts so bad to move i have to stay in the same position throughout the night. When i do try to roll out of the bed (literally) i have a popping sound in my pelvis.... Which of course freaks me out.... This is my 2nd pregnancy and i didn't have this with my first... I did go into preterm labor at 30 weeks and dialated 1 cm and i was 2cm effaced... Help anybody go through this? Any ways that you became comftorable i'm willing to try anything thats safe with my pregnancy......

My wife had similar symptoms, down to the popping and pre-term labor. She applied hot packs (not too hot), but a physical therapist later told her cold packs would have been better.

Talk to your doctor about the seriousness of your symptoms. Be clear about the popping, the degree of pain and the impairment of your ability to perform even basic tasks. End by asking who you can see to help you. If that doesn't work, outright ask for a referral for a perinatal physical therapist.

It sounds like you might have "pubic symphysis." Try googling for information before talking to your doctor.

Here's an information page:

Good luck!
