28 weeks preg and having pelvic pain/pressure? |
Hi all, The contraction you had was probably a braxton hicks contraction.. Where ur uterus tightens up but there isnt a severe pain. I have alot of them. You will know a real contraction it hurts bad!! But yes the baby could be in a head down position and thats the pressure you are feeling if the baby is real low. My son is real low and in a head down position and when i walk i feel alot of pressure and its normal. I wouldnt be concerned I started getting that pressury feeling when I stand up after sitting for awhile and it's completely normal. It is just the baby laying low and he or she is getting bigger and healthier...and that is why you notice! A tell tale sign of round ligament pain is that is pops up when you change positions. As for the pressure, it's probably just pressure from your uterus on your abdomen/pelvic floor which begins about 28-30 wks. As for your contraction, your doctor is right. Unless you begin having them regularly, don't worry (I know THAT is easier said than done!). Is it possible to have the phone number to Labor and Delivery at your nearest hospital? If so, keep it on your fridge so if you ever need after hours help you can call them. Most L&D departments are happy to evaluate you as well. This is good because it's almost like a "second opinion". Two things to always keep in mind..... |
