| *Women health>>>Pelvic Pain |
Okay so I went to the doctor on friday because of sharp pain in the pelvic area including lots of pressure...? |
she decided to see if I was dialated and I was 1cm dialated @ exactly 28 weeks. She sent me to labor and delievery to have them hook me to a monitor. They found that I was having constant braxton hicks contractions and to stop them they gave me a shot each hour for 2 hours to stop the contractions. It was called terbutaline. I read up on it and come to find out, it can wear off pretty quick. What are my chances of these pressure and pains coming back to find out I'm having contractions again? I wasn't even aware I was having constant contractions. Not only that, but since I've come home from the hospital, I've got a terrible sore thoat and feel sick with a cold. Is that a side effect? Will I have this baby earlier than my 40 weeks since they have already had to stop contractions? And if this happens again will they put me on bed rest or let me continue to do my 40 hours a week at work and come home and take care of another child and just do normal living stuff? thanks bkell22, I appreciate any information because this is new to me. I didn't have anything like this with my first child. i have twin boys and i had this exact same thing happen with me...i went to labor and delivery on several occasions and they had to give me that shot...finally because i kept having contractions...i had to start going into the doc's office every week and getting a shot to help with the contractions...my doc did put me on bed rest...i stopped working but i didnt stay in my bed or anything...i still went grocery shopping...cleaned house etc....probably shouldnt have...but i was able to keep my boys in my belly for 36 weeks...i was 1 month early...which is good for twins... |
