Pelvic pressure/pain? |
I am 37 weeks 5 days pregnant with my first baby and the last few days I have noticed some intense pelvic pressure/pain on occassion. Is this normal? And is it a sign that labor is close? My husband is the army and returns home from deployment in about 10 days so I'm just hoping the baby can hang on til he gets here.... Yes that is normal, what you are experiencing is the baby dropping. It is one of the last steps before going into labor, another thing that may or may not happen is your mucus plug coming out (some women don't loose their mucus plug until they are having the baby) so either that or the next sign is going into labor OR your water breaking because sometimes a woman's water breaks before their contractions start, also some women have to have their water broken at around 5-7cm dialated. =) good luck and i hope it all works out in your favor!!!! well I'm 38 weeks so like right along with you and my husband is in Iraq too. funny how similar. well i have been in and out of the labor and delivery because i went into active labor with contractions then they slowed wayyyy down so sent me home because i was not dilated enough. i was 2 to 3 cm dilated and feeling the same thing u are so its a sign your dilating and the baby's head is probably going in and out of the pelvic area so it puts a lot of pressUre. but to answer yoUr question. it is normal and its one of those crappy side affects of being pregnant. on the brighter side ur man is coming home and ur body is preparing its self for labor right on time :) Well, yeah you are close to having a baby... i had my in 38 weeks... It sounds like the baby may have dropped (also known as lightening) and in a first pregnancy that can actually happen a couple of weeks before the baby actually comes. Just take it easy and limit your physical activity. |
