Another question... pelvic pain?

my hips and "crotch" hurt as if my pelvis where spreading. it kind of hurts to walk. im 30 weeks pregnant. did this happen to you?

i remember it was a throbbing pain. i could not lift my legs and put my underwear on lol... sleeping with a pillow between my legs helped and getting on all fours and having my partner push on both sides of my tailbone bought relief for a bit.. good luck.. will probably hang around a little after the birth, will eventually disappear..

Your hips are actually in two pieces, left and right, joined at the "crotch" by the symphysis pubis, a piece of cartilage that softens when your body releases hormones to allow movement and the spreading for delivery. All of your joints are actually softening now, so be careful not to overstretch, as ligaments and tendons have difficulty regaining elasticity.

Do the Keigal exercises, and remember to "tighten" your muscles (squeeze and hold) for 10 to 20 seconds to help.

congrats

Yes it is common. As you progress further along, your body is preparing itself for child birth! But very careful not to try to lift anything heavy as this will add to the strain and could cause damage to the softened tissues and cartilage. Walking is alright as long as you don't over do it!! It's also from the baby moving into the birth canal and putting pressure on your pelvis bones and causing them to spread! Good luck and Congratulations!! :o)

Yes and it's because your pelvis is spreading. Your bones shift to make way for child birth.
