Is Intense Pelvic Pain And Pressure A Sign Of Dilating ? |
Im 34 wks 6 days pregnant and i have been having REALLY bad pelvic pain and pressure. She dropped into my pelvis like 3 weeks ago and ever since then it's gotten worse. Is all of this pain a sign of dilating or the cervix thinning ? Or is it just the baby moving into the birth canal and nothing more ??? Usually it's just the normal feelings you get as the pregnancy nears the end. You might be dilating and effacing a bit, but it takes real labor contractions to make significant dilation happen in an otherwise normal pregnancy. I have always hated this feeling I have go to the doc a couple time for the same cause i feel like something is just being held only by my pelvic bones, which hurts. but so far being 32 weeks now the doc said that all is fine. However I tell when I stand walk it feels like the baby is going to fall out. But this being my 8th preg I know that its not its just so uncomfy. But as two of the post said I wouldn't worry much inless you are having contractions, this also could be that you have them in the back which is hard to tell sometimes. Like having pain in the back that aches so bad but it comes in goes. You really don't feel the dilating of your cervix, however you will see alot of discharge. If you see that you are getting wet like you might have went peed then you need to go to the doc. This could mean that your water is leaking. The best thing is right now stay in the bed on your side with a pillow between your legs and one supporting your tummy. If you still have questions call the doc they would rather you bug them then not. Hey they make the big bucks for this lol..... Gl the baby can't actually move into the birth canal untill you are fulkly dialated/effaced you was probably disalting (some women don't even feel the contractions)i'd check you can check your cervix at home don'tpull at it or anything just see if its is down and opening check for any leaking or blood while your in there MAKE SURE YOU WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE!! good luck !!! if you don't feel comfortable doing that call in to Labour and delivery and explain your situation sounds like your ready to go soon! It could be a little of both but I think it's mostly the baby just preparing for birth. When they drop you will have alot more of those shooting pains and pressure. Not fun! I'm 38wks and have been having both pains and pressure and was told that my baby is just really far down right now. He's getting ready for birth. Hope this helps? Good luck to you, not much longer now! I've had that same pelvic pressure since I was about 28 weeks, and I'm 37 and not dilated at all. I think its just how the baby is positioned. Good luck! It helps to sleep with a pillow in between your knees. It also helped me to sleep in a recliner instead of my bed! It could be both. I'm also 34 weeks with #3 and having the same symptoms. Thats what I was told it was, dilating and thinning of the cervix. |
