31 weeks with pelvic pain?

Hi I am 31 weeks and for the last week or so I have been feeling pain in my pelvic area...It's more so when I lay down at night and when I go to climb steps or lift my legs. At night the only thing that releives it is if I push a little. What could this be?...about a week ago I started nesting as well.

OK I had the same thing happen and everyone advised that it is the hips spreading and pelvis getting ready for birth-still several weeks away most likely. Use pillows when you sleep between your legs.
I would call you doc - just to be sure....
Sounds as if the baby has dropped! And in the event he/she already "dropped" then he/she is engaging even further.
RN Labor and Delivery
If you are referring to your pubic bone area, yes, I have had it.

I worked in an office with 50 other women who had had children, and NONE of them had had those symptoms.

Your pubic bone is actually 2 halves that are joined together with cartilage down the front. The cartilage softens during pregnancy, and one side of your pubic bone can shift down, while the other goes up or stays in the same place.

It is very painful, and can be fixed with physical therapy. I had it whenever I stood up from sitting, when I got into my car, whenever I lifted one leg (going up stairs).

Keeping your knees together whenever you stand up from a sitting position can help, but a physical therapist can really help, although you are reaching that point where a therapist won't touch you with a 10 foot pole. (they don't want to do physical therapy after 36 weeks, because it can cause problems).
It could be round ligament pain or your hips are starting to spread. If it is severe or accompanied by any pressure, you should call your doctor.
I think that you need to talk with your OB/GYN on this. have you timed these pains? I'm going through the pelvic pains(and went through this same thing on my 3rd preg), but my pains are at all times of the day. I'm actually having early labor contractions. But I'm being told (and have been told) that if the pains are only lasting a min.- that these pains are nothing to worry about. as for the pain in the legs, I don't know. I think the best thing is to talk with your doctor on this.
