Help I have lower pelvic pain? |
I am 30 years old no kids. And I have been having lower pelvic pain on an off for over a week I have had a frequent urge to urinate almost every hour at night but that went away completely. 4 years back I was diagnosed with 2 very small fibroids at the top of my uterus and ovarian cysts and since then I was never bothered by it at all dont think its the fibroids because the pain is buy my ovary and why would my uterus be enlarged. I have normal periods on time and hardly any cramping. I went to the Gyne office today I have a negative pregnancy test. But when he did the pelvic exam he told me that my uterus and ovaries were both enlarged and I have an ultrasound scheduled the day after tomorrow. Im worried it might be something serious and I want to have kids!!!!!!! Why do Fibroids Cause an Enlarged Uterus? The uterus is designed to expand to accommodate a growing baby. When fibroids develop, the uterus enlarges in response to fibroid growth. Some women notice a distended abdomen similar to pre-menstrual bloat; others experience expansion as big as a full term pregnancy. There are many causes for an enlarged uterus, but the most common is fibroids. The uterus is made up of muscle and often, small "knots" of muscle start to grow independent of the uterus. This can cause the uterus to enlarge. You could have an ovarian mass that is causing the feelings of an enlarged uterus. hope this helps Source(s): www.netwellness.org www.fibroids.com your answer will come tomorrow with the results of the ultrasound. First, don't panic, a LOT of women live with fibroids and have kids with no problem. I know several women who either have had their fibroids removed and had children OR never had them removed and still had kids. Generally, fibroids are nothing to be worried about. They are a nuisance and can be bothersome, but they are benign growths that many, many women have. Second, after you get an opinion from your doctor, be sure to get a second opinion and confirm what the first doctor said. Third, it is not unusual to have an enlarged uterus when you have fibroids.
