Has anyone experienced pelvic pain during pregnancy? |
I have been having sharp pelvic pain on/off for about 6 weeks...am now 39.5 weeks pregnant. My OB says its stretching and babe's head settling. It is excruciating at times and can last minutes to an hour at a time. It can happen during sitting or lying or standing. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, does it indicate I am going to have a difficult delivery as perhaps babe's head just cannot fit through there?? Yes Yes Yes!!! I had that in my second and third pregnancies. Your doctor is right about what is causing it. That is what my docs always said at least. Mine seemed to last all day towards the end of my pregnancy. It probably has a lot to do with how your baby's head is hitting your pelvis, not that the baby won't fir. You will be suprised at how much your pelvis moves and stretches during labor!! If the babies head was too big for your size dimensions your OB would be able to see that on the ultrasound, they measure all of that stuff. Good Luck!! I had that as well. As far as I know,it doesn't impact delivery ;) Good god did i ever have that..i was carrying twins and my doc said that it is the pelvic bone loosening (seperating). You should be fine with delivery..its just the weight of the baby. Your babies head should fit fine!!! my mom had got MISSION TO GET TO LEVEL 3 BEFORE MARCH 15TH HELP ME TO DO SO It could be "round ligament pain" I had it and it was terrible. It would take my breath away and stop me in my tracks if I was walking. Sorry. Hang in there. could be something as simple as gas.... I know it is excrutiating for me sometimes... or maybe a bowel that cant move that the baby is pushing on.... if the doc says everything is fine.. i wouldnt worry too much unless you really have a feeling somethine is wrong... demand an u/s to make sure everything is ok! First of all. Is this your first child?? If not I am going through the same thing I'm 36 weeks. My doctor said it is because I just had a baby a year and a half ago and my body hasn't really had time to heal. I am always hurting and this is my 3rd child. |
