39 weeks pregnant with sharp pelvic pain?

For the last couple of days I've been getting sharp pains in my lower abdomen and pelvic area, sometimes even in my vagina, they don't last very long maybe 10 seconds but they seem to be happening more and more. Is this normal? Does it mean labor is starting? Should I keep track of when i get them? I also get crampy braxton hicks that last about 30 seconds, but they aren't regular, but when I get them my lower back, right above my butt, feels achy too. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure what any of this means, if it means anything.

It could be the start of labour. You usually have a discharge this is known as the plug and it means your cervix is getting ready for labour. If you are worried contact your midwife for advice.
