I asked a question about pelvic pain before, i have another question? |
okay if im around 30 weeks pregnant (31 this week supposedly according to the doctor but i think they are off by 2-3 weeks by my conception date, so 32-33 weeks) anyway if i am having pelvic pains, they are only bad when i am getting up from laying down, turning over (while laying) or move one of my legs up a lot higher than the other, but could this mean the baby might be born premature, if that is the baby getting in position. could she/he be in postion and i might go into labor sooner than 40 weeks?? please no stupid answers, im just curious because i saw another question that made me wonder. In pregnancy the hormone relaxin is released to soften the joints in preparation for the birth of your baby. The pains you feel are VERY common and VERY normal in pregnancy- especially at 30+ weeks. Although it appears to be a firmly fixed circle of bone, the pelvis is actually four separate bones jointed together - the sacrum and coccyx at the back and at the sides the two hip bones which curve around to meet at the front. These are joined at the front by the symphysis pubis. It is normal for there to be a gap of 4-5mm between the two pubic points at the symphysis pubis joint and during any pregnancy this widens by another 2-3mm. If this gap widens more than this pain may occur. The job of the symphysis pubis joint is to hold the pelvis steady when we're using our legs, and if the ligaments have softened or stretched too much it won't work properly and strain is put on the other pelvic joints, causing pain. Just try to move as slow as you can! I know it's sooo painful-- i'm now 40 weeks and each week the pain gets worse as the ligaments loosen more and my growing baby is only adding more pressure- especially since she has dropped! Source(s): 6 year old daughter and 40 weeks with #2 omg i have the same problem. Like if i am sitting on the floor and try to get up my pelvic area hurts so much.. also from moving side to side in bed and getting up from bed... my doc said to sleep with a pillow.. that it is just your muscles tensing up from the weight of your belly and baby. I am 27 weeks pregnant and have had this since my last child.. but it went away after he was born and came back when i got pregnant again. I had to do exercises because they said my pelvic bone never went back into place after the baby was born and that I would have this pain probably every pregnancy. I'm pretty sure your baby isn't going to be born premature.. especially if it is the same pain i'm going through. Probably just your ligaments stretching. That happened to me a lot with this pregnancy (36 1/2 weeks), but not at all with my daughter (6 years old). If you're worried, call your OB-GYN. Remember, there are no stupid questions when it comes to your and your baby's health. I think I answered your other question too. But if you saw it, I said with my 3rd baby I felt what you describeda few weeks before Ihad him. I did have him at 34 weeks. I told the doctor about it and then my water leaked for a week or so and I got steroid shots to develop the babies lungs. This was about 4 days before he was born. He was a very healthy baby and weighed 5 lbs and 2 oz and went home with me 2 days later. No problems. Just voice your concerns to your doctor and if you have gut feelings that you may go into labor early then make sure they do something about it. I bugged the doctor and went back several times because of those hip pains, etc.. Im glad I did. it is not the baby getting in position it is your pelvis separating preparing itself for birth. no it does not mean you will have the baby early. some women start having those pains in their fourth month and go to full term. i have those same pains (which sucks) and have for 2 months now. consider it a blessing your body will be prepared for when the baby does get into position. Okay, to me it sounds like tendants... honestly... I think everything is just adjusting to the growing baby, you need to try and get up more slowly, and try and not make rapid movements... Tell you OB on the next visit, but I personnaly would not be concerned about premature delivery... |
