Has anyone experianced this pelvic pain/pressure at 39 weeks? |
I will be 39 weeks tomarrow. Last night I was restless and went on an hour long walk, and this started when I got home. It is a pressure/pain in my pelvic area, pretty much the front V area that a bikini would cover. When sitting or lying it is a pressure, one that I can even ignore. However, when I go to stand or walk it is a sharp PAIN, and the only (slight) releif is to walk "bow-legged" with my thighs spread as far as possible. The only thing that makes since to me is that the baby dropped and it's her head against my pelivs causing this, but I carried my last daughter to almost 43 weeks and never felt this! I also have been feeling a pressure on my cervix, almost like my hubby and I had some wild sex and I am sore, but from the top and we haven't been intimate in a while! Anyway I am wondering if anyone has experianced this, and how long did it last until labor? Was it a sign of a problem? Any ideas or input would be great!!! Thanks ladies! Your pelvic bone is spreading. There is a layer of cartilage between each side that allows for spreading, or this is how my doctor explained it to me. I did this with my last baby. The sharp pain was a horrible stinging pain like I was being cut almost. The babies head is probably resting on your bone also. I went like this for 4 days. Just do what ever you can to make it feel a little better, I didn't find much relief. Congrats on the new little one. I walked around like that for the last week. Most likely your baby has dropped- it feels like you're carrying a basket ball in between your legs! It is really annoying and uncomfortable but it means you are getting close! This just means your baby's head is getting further into the birth canal and it won't be long before you deliver |
