How do you treat chronic pelvic pain? |
this is for my mother she is having chroninc pelvic pain, and she says it feels like a heavy object in her pelvic area, like a hernia, she has been to plenty of doctors but they are not treating her right they jus give her 800mg pain killers, and they said they can't perform surgery becuase they claim my mother is overweight, but one doctor told my mother she needs to get her chronic pain dealt with before trying to loose weight, so can someone please tell me what to do Have they considered sending your mom to a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic pain? Many times, addressing muscle inefficiencies, pelvic alignment issues, and muscular restrictions is helpful in relieving this discomfort. I, myself, am a physical therapist, but I do not practice in this arena. Therefore, I have included a website to the pelvic pain society where you may find a therapist near you. Source(s): http://www.pelvicpain.org/meetings/2006/... You need to be very very persistant with gynocologists until she gets treatment and finds out what the cause of this is!! Ask when you call to make an appointment if they are especially trained in this area. Visit doctor after doctor until you find one that will work with you. Demand testing for things such as endometriosis. Good luck to both of you! She needs another doctor. So many will blow you off and by the time you find someone who actually gives a crap well then whatever the problem is, its so far worse than before. You have to be assertive nowdays! Its hard to lose weight when you have so much pain it hurts to move! ANd 800 mg is ok for inflammation, but if it is not helping then why take an uneeded pill! Surgery isnt and shouldnt be the first option. Test, ultrasounds and the such and then find out whats causing it, then go over the options. If surgery is needed, then research it well, because if you can do someone else rather than lose your female organs then try that first. Good Look. It sounds like it could be endometriosis, and wow, that is painfulllllllllllllll!!!!! |
