Has anyone had their OB prescribe Tylenol with codeine in the 35 weeks for pelvic pain? |
My pelvic pain is effecting my walking and I was prescribed Tylenol with codeine and also a sleep aid Abiene? Has anyone else got this prescribed? Ambien is in the drug category B which means they've pretty much determined it to be safe. Tylenol 3 is a C, which means that you should only take it if the benefits truly outweigh the potential risks. My doctor says anything c or over is ok, but I refuse anything but A or B drugs. I had a friend who was about that many weeks and they gave her the same. i had surgery while preg and got demerol. i think its safe in moderation. No, and I would not take them. Ambien is addictive and will probably affect how your baby sleeps after he or she is born. Codein is a narcotic...also very unhealthy for your child. I'd find a different doctor or ask about how early they would induce you. I had severe pelvic pain and I could feel my baby's head (2nd and 3rd pregnancies) when I lightly rested my hand down there....my doctor induced me two weeks early. But please, think of your baby and not your pain so much...i know how bad it hurts though and i feel for you. Well, yes I have heard of it and it is safe to have small doses when needed. I had hydrocodine prescribed for cramping at 29 weeks and then I went into labor( we did not know it at the time) and they gave me a shot of morphine to stop contractions( I was 5-6 weeks early) and she came like 6 hrs. later and was fine !! I would not worry about the Tylenol w/ codeine !! Good Luck !! When I was pregnant with my second child just recently I had teeth issues and they prescribed me Tylenol with Codeine. I talked to my OB and she told me that it was fine!! It's the strongest type of Meds that they can give you since you're pregnant!! I never got a sleep aid, but I'm assuming that if it was no good for your baby then the doc probably wouldn't have prescribed it!! Good luck to you I had tylenol 3 (codeine) when pregnant because my sciatic nerve was pinched really bad. I was about 24 weeks when I came down with a severe case of kidney stones. My Dr. prescribed Tylox for me and told me that it would NOT hurt my baby. So if the OB/GYN prescibed these things for you and you trust his/her judgement, then I wouldn't worry. Good luck |
