Sharp pains in lower abdomen and pelvic area? |
I've been having sharp pains in my lower abdomen and pelvic area for the past week, its gotten worse the past few days. The pain alternates from side to side and I'm kind of weak. I had a progestin hormone IUD inserted back in march and I haven't had a period since June. My breasts are tender and I don't have much of an appetite in the morning. I can't tell if its pregnancy or not. I'm getting enough to drink so its not dehydration. Any ideas? You need to go to your doctor. Chances are that you aren't pregnant, but you could be having a reaction to either the IUD or progesterone. Maybe both. Could be an STD. they sometimes start out as sharp pains in your lower abdomen or it could be a side effect from the birth control. you should get it checked out just to be sure. good luck first get a home pregnancy test if it says negative you may have whats called an etopic pregnancy go to your local emergency room just to make sure that is not the case or just wait and see your gyno they may have to run a blood test on you just to make sure.another thig they may have to do a pelvic exam and ultra sound to find out why you are having pains.it can be caused by ovarian cysts or something else but i would definately see your doctor a.s.a.p good luck std Take a pregnancy test. If it is negative, the symptoms that you are having sounds like a STD called Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PVD). If this is the answer, then you need to immediately get treated because this disease can cause women to be sterile if not treated. GOOD LUCK! could b sign of an infection, or mayb u need to check for fibroids You need to let your doctor who prescribed your IUD for you know the symptoms you are having. Sound a lot like PID (Pelvis Inflammatory Disease) not uncommon in women who use IUD's. Please take are and call your doc ASAP. |
