Thyroid Cysts/Nodules and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome?

Ok well I'm 28 years old and have a variety of health issues. My Dr has sent me for MRI's, ultrasounds for thyroid and pelvic and some other tests. Well the results came in and the girl at the dr's office told me that I have cysts or nodules on my Thyroid Gland and also have cysts on my ovaries. They are supposed to be setting up an appointment to have the Cysts/Nodules of my thyroid examined more closely before identifying what treatment can be done. I am terrified! I asked my doctor if it is treatable and she told me lets find out what it is before you start to worry. I have already had the blood work done and the ultrasound done, what can I expect next? How do they determine what it is? What treatments are out there? What are the risks and/or side effects of going through treatment? What are the risks and/or side effects of not going through treatment? I have already done my research on the PCOS and I'm concerned about my ability to ever have children.

I got diagnosed with PCOS at 15, I am not sure how long I've actually had it. I am 21 now and still suffering from it. As far as I know, the only "cure" is diet and excercise. Its tough to deal with. As a result of PCOS you gain weight & have a HARD time losing it. Most people get facial hair, depression, anxiety, and the inability to have children. It is a horrible disease to have. However, I recently went to a new doctor that told me that pcos and diabetes were connected. He put me on a medication called Metformin, also called Glucophage, to help get it under control. I do wish you the best of luck with it. It does suck pretty bad, but its not unbearable.
