I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome!! But I'm worried!!?

I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, but the only thing I am worried about is not being able to get pregnant and have children. I know that there is always the option of adoting, but it would never be the same. Am I just worrying to much, or is it okay to worry about this?

I have the same thing pcos. Unfortunately mine was to far for them to fix. So having children is not and option for me. So we are in the issues of adoption. They may no come from but they come from my heart. Every child wants to be loved whether they come from us or are adopted.

I was going through when they make you take all the shots to get pregnant but I got into a really bad car accident too and damaged my body badly and I had to learn how to walk again.

No you not worry to much. As long as you follow what you dr tells you and go through the programs and everything will be okay

I do however have a friend who is much younger then me and they found out that she had Pcos earlier on and she has two children.

I am putting a link that describes Pcos. Source(s): http://women.webmd.com/tc/polycystic-ova...
It is okay to worry about this sometimes. My friend has the same conditions and it worries here as well. I do know that is most cases of PCOS there is a substantial chance of getting pregnant so try to think POSITIVELY. The less you worry the better it will be for you. =)
Hi foxibaby, I want to know how you were diagnosed with that syndrome? I ask because my daughter was told the EXACT same diagnosis and it proved incorrect. MAKE SURE that you REALLY HAVE this diagnosis- please see another specialist to determine whether you have this syndrome, because if you are experiencing the symptoms RELATED to PCOS and it is NOT that, you do not want to spend year after year not diagnosed. If it is not PCOS, you may need hormone therapy or surgery and you then would not have to worry about pregnancy problems.

IF you truly have PCOS, yes, fertility will be a challenge, but far from impossible- my daughter is getting married in June and the specialists that misdiagnosed her also told her that pregnancy is a definite possibility but only a challenge.

Good luck to you........make sure your diagnosis is correct.......
pcos makes it somewhat impossible to get pregnant without the use of fertility drugs and regular visits to the endocrinologist. maybe visit one if you'd like to have a baby soon.. i would just go see one and talk it out with them, have them tell you about infertility treatment options and what you can do now to help get pregnant later in life..
I also have PCOS, and it turns out it may be hereditary, because my mom has it as well. My mom was told as a teenager that she would never be able to have children, but she carried and delivered both my brother and myself with no problems at all.

Don't be discouraged. It is harder for women with PCOS to have children, but it's not impossible, especially in this day and age of modern medicine, including fertility drugs and surgery.

I am interested in becoming pregnant at some point myself, and all the research I have done and the questions I have asked have told me that I will have better chances of getting pregnant if I eat healthy and exercise regularly. The interesting thing about this is that a good diet and regular exercise will also help to ease some of the discomfort of PCOS, and will help to prevent the diabetes that many women with PCOS eventually develop.
It's common to worry about things like that...
Having PCOS does not mean you cannot get pregnant you still have a chance though their significantly reduced you still can it will just take way longer and often you will need fertility drugs to help..Alot of the time if you have PCOS and haven't been able to get pregnant they will prescribe clomid if that doesn't work they will have you take clomid and metformin together which increases chances of conceiving.. having PCOS puts you at a higher rate for miscarriage so keep that in mind as well
Don't give up hope girl, stop stressing about it as well because your only making matters worse...
Four of my friends have PCOS and two of them were able to get pregnant without using anything..
Your time will come and you will have a beautiful baby boy/girl just enjoy your time being single with less responsibilty...
good luck to you
