Diagnosis For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome? |
okay basically i suffer from that (the title) and i hate it, i have hair where i shunt, and have really heacy periods whenever they decide to come round i also have really dark patches around my underarms, and also have gained alot of weight - okay i weigh 13 and a half stones and am only sixteen, i havent been on for a year is there any diagnosis to this? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME A DIAGNOSIS FOR THIS I have PCOS and had the same problem as you, my weight went out of control. At one point I weighed 12 stone and Im 5ft 7inches. It was getting me really down so I went to the doctors and he prescribed me METFORMIN which has worked wonders. I have lost over 2 stone and still going鈥?Maybe its worth a visit, explain how you feel and see if he can do anything for you. Good Luck. My boss has polycystic ovary syndrome and she had an operation to have the cyst removed. It was very successful and her ovaries are absolutely fine and untouched. You should see your doctor about it and see if he/she can recommend something, whether it is surgery or something else. That is the diagnosis. But there should be medications you can take to help. I have just recently been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I'm not really sure about your question, though, because I don't have those same symptoms. I just simply get cysts most months, around the time of ovulation. They are VERY painful, though! And there is medication that you can take, mostly for the pain, but my doctor told me it really wont affect anything until trying to conceive children. They can diagnose you for this. They'll run blood tests. It does sound like PCOS though. They'll probably put you on birth control that's basically all they can do for PCOS. Even if you don't have it your doctor may want to put your on birth control anyway it would help regulate your hormones. diagnosed with PCOS a year ago You need to take care of yourself. Try to lose some weight and eat well and some of the symptoms can go away. Also, this is something that can affect your fertility when you get older, so the sooner you take care of it and yourself, the better chances of you having a baby when you're ready for that. Hope this helps! |
