The dr. thinks I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.. Is this ever misdiagnosed? |
Could it be something worse that they are just not seeing? If it is POS is there anything I should be aware of? Thanks for the help. I had PCOS for 5 yrs and then was dx with ovarian cancer. not saying you will get cancer! just that if you were dx with PCOS, you need to make sure they do pelvic ultrasounds on a regular basis. your doc may recommend putting you on the pill, because your body doesn't have to work so hard on it's own, the pill does it for u. it gives your ovaries a break and that's what they need. just keep monitoring it by ultrasounds, and don't shrug off any weird symtoms you might have such as abdominal pain, bloating, gaining a lot of weight, stomach looking bigger....etc. if you have these, let your doc know. Get a second opinion or xray to be for sure. It could just be a pimple that will heal itself. Yes , it has been misdiagnosed and then doctors regret they cut on the patient. |
