I just got diagnosed with PCOS. (polycystic ovary syndrome). i haven't been able to lose any weight.? |
any suggestions? i've been eating fruit for breakfast, salad w/ tuna for lunch, and a sensible dinner. help!!!! I have PCOS and was diagnosed 12 years ago. Please feel free to ask me anything you would like to know. Generally I don't offer my email address, but in this case I will. Dragonfly_daydreams@yahoo.com There are also several wonderful websites out there that offer a great deal of support. www.soulcysters.net is one of my favorites. You CAN lose weight, but it's hard. Trust me, I know. I lost 78 pounds after years of struggling and heartache. I also just gave birth to a baby girl after being told that my ovaries were SO cystic that I would never get pregnant. Don't give up hope, and please contact me if you need help. exercise www.ediets.com Try doing a search for "pcos diet". I've been recently diagnosed as well and have been having some trouble finding information. From what I've been able to find out, insulin resistance is a major key factor so there are certain considerations when dieting for pcos. I did come across this though. I haven't bought and tried it, but there are books and guides out there. Regular exercise will also help. If you don't do much now, just try walking for 30 mins/day most days of the week to start. It's better than nothing and still beneficial. Good luck. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0007131... |
