I was just told i have polycystic ovary syndrome does anyone have any information and tips to loose the weight

i have gained alot of weight due to this and need some good advice if anyone has it to get it off. i'm also wondering if its possible to have more kids i have one child and would like to have a big family and am feeling kind of hopeless. If you can help at all any information is greatly appericated. thanks.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22. The good news is that losing weight CAN help you regain your fertility - I shed 75 lbs and wound up getting pregnant unintentionally, simply because I didn't ever think I would be able to conceive.

As for weight loss tips - the single two most important things I've done for weight loss have been removing sugar from my diet almost completely (switching to diet soda, using Splenda instead of table sugar, staying away from all the goodies) and avoiding anything fried, like french fries or potato chips or anything breaded.

Since both of these things are fairly strict for someone who enjoys, ya know, good stuff... I allow myself one cheat day a week where I can have something I've been craving really bad. Usually for me it's a cheeseburger and fries, but it varies.

Best of luck to you, and remember that PCOS doesn't mean you won't have the family you're looking for! Source(s): Personal experience.
Could you elaborate on the correlation between the PCOS and the weight gain? If you don't, I could only give you generic weight loss tips of the "eat less, do more" variety. In what ways did the PCOS cause the weight gain?
you need to go to an endocrinologist.... i am guessing your gynie told you about the polycystic ovaries.
the weight gain is closely related... and your hormones are all tied up in this... often people w/ PCO have abnormal levels of thyroid & have some diabetic problems, so getting that checked w/ blood tests will be the first step... and then you may need some meds to help balance this out...
this will also help you get pregnant again, as PCO can interfere w/ you getting pregnant.

ask your gynie for more information & ask for a good endocrinologist.
