What are the symptoms when you have polycystic ovary syndrome?

periods are really irregular cramps and heavy bleeding hair on the face mostly the chin area wheight gain very easy a lot of the time diebeties i hope you do not have pcos i hate it i do not feel like a whole woman i barely have periods and i am ttc and i have to know that it is my body that may keep my husband from being a father but still trying you do the same.i cant even do what most woman take for granted.
I'm not specifically sure about this syndrome but I've had cysts on my ovaries and I get severe cramping and sometimes super heavy periods.
Irregular or consistantly missed periods (no ovulation), weight gain, oily skin, loss of hair, hair growth, but the only real way to see if you have it is to go to your obgyn and get tested. Usually the doc will do an u/s and see if they can see cysts on your ovaries, if so then you have it and they will start you on medication to treat your condition.
Excessive body hair ie on face, weight gain and bad acne on upper torso area and on the face this is due to the ovaries producing to much testosterone and irregular periods
i have PCOS
They vary widely... unexplained weight gain, unwanted hair growth, acne, skin abnormalities, painful periods and infertility.
weight gain, excessive hair growth especially on face, receeding hairline, acne, infrequent or loss of periods, if you do have periods they can be very heavy and painful, having a "pouchy" stomach but slender hips, depression like symtoms, and more. PCOS is basically a hormonal imbalance in your body. People with PCOS have insulin intolerance (it takes more insulin to break down the sugars and glucose in your body), the eggs will not release, causing cysts on the ovaries which then produces testosterone, less progesterone is created, and it makes it very difficult to have a pregnancy. Miscarriage is very common because of the loss of progesterone.

I was just diagnosed with PCOS, even though I have suffered with it for years. A lot of doctors will think you have other problems, or simply say it is psychosomatic. It is very difficult to deal with, hearing things like that, especially when you know it isn't. Having doctors not listen to or believe you is terrible.

If you think you have this it is important to get knowledgable about it before visiting a doctor. It tooks one simple blood test and ultrasound to diagnose, but no doctor would even try it on me because they just simply labeled me as crazy. So get as much knowledge as possible.

One of the greatest sites on PCOS is www.soulcysters.com . It has everything on there, from symtoms to how to manage it. There is no cure for PCOS, but at least it can provide relief in knowing what is causing your troubles. And you can manage it. Check out this site. It is wonderful! And they also have a forum, so you can hear about it from other women who have it too.
