What are my chances of having another baby when ive got polycystic ovary syndrome? |
i take metformin and orlistat for my weight gain. but really want another baby Hello, I have PCOS & have had since i was 17 years old, i am now 23 & 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby. When myself & my partner started trying for a baby i had heard a few thing may help the process which if you are keen enough for a baby...you will try. 1) Lose weight if needed, i lost 3 & a half stone, went from 13 stone to 9 stone & 5 lbs. Improves your BMI. 2) Quit smoking (and your partner if they smoke, it is a proven fact that smokers find it harder to conceive) 3) Drink plenty of water (i drink at least 3 litres a day) but as long as you drink at least 1 - 1 & a half litres it will help, flushes your body out & keeps you healthy (and very good for skin). 4) Maybe do a little expercise, i walked a mile every evening. These all are supposed to help, for the first 6 months i was sat worrying & stressing about how long it was going to take as nothing was happening, but after changing my lifestyle a little & helping my body get healthier i concieved in 9 months, naturally. Dont sit & worry about how long its taking, this will only make it worse, take it as it comes & as soon as your body is ready it should throw it at you when you least expect it, like it has me. I am due the same day as my mums wedding & counting the days back from my 1st scan i conceived on my 23rd birthday!!! Made it all even more special. Good luck, i hope it all goes well. G xx Source(s): My experience Fertility can be a result of PCOS but doesn't mean you are. Just try, if it's meant to be it will happen. Good luck Yah, well I want one too but I have PCOS for years and never have conceived. Your chances are so much harder now. Metformin doesn't do anything for most. My best friend has PCOS as well and has had one child at the age of 35 and never again..she loses every single one of them and she is also on Metformin. Its a brutal disease-caused by sugar, fats and carbs. Clean up your diet....I did and it did nothing. I just think I am a lost cause. Good luck, I KNOW your pain intimately. hello uve got everychance in the world i was diagnosed with pcos beginig of the year, and i paniked so much thinking i wouldnt be able to have a baby but here i am now 8 weeks preg im soo happy. the thing is not to stress about ti cos that wont help at all they say that metformin helps you ovulate but they wouldnt give it to me until 6 months of trying but i didnt need it after all. there are lots of celebrities thta have had it to and they have babys so u have got a good chance just keep trying dont give up hope i nearly did but u gota keep going and now im preg so it wrth it. and i am overweight to so it not so true about cleaning up your diet.i already have 1 child aswell so im doing well im sure u will 2 so good luck and dont stress it wil happen I have pcos and i have had 4 children 2 with no help and than 2 with weight loss and clomid and once i started to lose weight the weight just shed with little effert and the clomid work within 4 months the first time and 6 months the second. Just keep trying it will happen You have every chance i have pocs and i have 3 children and iv never used any medication for it and never had any help to concieve i just worked on my cycle and with my last child it took me 3 months to concieve good luck |
