I have polycystic ovaries (but not the syndrome). Would this cause mid-cycle pain & bleeding?

Is there a treatment for this condition? Am I likely to be able to conceive?

"Would this cause mid-cycle pain & bleeding?"
Possibly but birth control pills can help get your menstrual cycle back on track.

"Is there a treatment for this condition?"
Yes, To correct this, your first step is to look at what you eat, how much you eat, and how much physical activity you get. It raises your risks of serious health problems. Eating heart-healthy foods, along with getting regular exercise, is the key to lowering these risks. If you are overweight, a small amount of healthy weight loss is likely to start up your menstrual cycle and ovulation. Making a plan with your doctor, a nutritionist, and/or an athletic trainer can help. Talk to your doctor about your goals for treatment.

"Am I likely to be able to conceive?"
Yes, if you are trying to get pregnant, again, healthy weight control may be all that you need to start ovulating. Sometimes, also using diabetes and/or fertility medicine can help.

Good luck
Try this one darlin'......... and good luck. See a good doc too.

Yes it would. The egg travels down your ovarian tubes mid-cycle. Many factors could cause pain during its travel: a large egg travelling through a small ovarian tube: inflammation of the tubes due to close proximity of a cyst to the tubal entry: enhanced sensitivity due to inflammation or a genetic pre-disposition.
Try going to WebMd and click on the Symptom Checker at the top right corner of the Welcome Page.
Good Luck!
My daughter also suffers from this and because of this did not have a period for almost 2 years. She is overweight which is also a factor of polycycstic ovaries and because of her condition it is very difficult to lose weight. As for conceiving i think it would depend on the individual so it would be best to see your G.P. As i have no medical background please dont take what i am saying with conviction but seek professional help to put your mind at ease. Good luck.
Hi,

I also have pcos and i'm 6 weeks pregnant. The best diet is GI, it is almost specifically made for pcos. Surf around on the net for GI info or buy a book. The diet is quite easy once you get the hang of it.
