I just found out I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome! ????Clomid?

and I was wondering if anyone has the same problem and if they were able to have kids. They are starting me on clomid...has anyone had experiences with this? Did you get pregnant? How long did it take? Please...I would appreciate anyones story!

I have PCOS. I was diagnosed and given Metformin (the insulin pill that you referred to) and got pregnant in a month and a half. Some women only need Metformin, some need the combination of Metformin and Clomid. Some need a different ovulation drug such as Femera. Hopefully you can find your combination. Good luck!
I know several people who have PCOS and they were all able to get pregnant, all with help though. I know of at least one who got pregnant right away. It's absolutely possible! I hope it works for you right away.
If you are at all over weight switch to a low carb diet, that is the #1 thing that helped me. I was diagnosed at 19. I lost 40 lbs and now I have two wonderful little boys. I tried clomid amongst other stuff and it didn't really help. I started taking some OTC herbs and meds and prenatal vitamins and cutback on carbs (no breads, cereals, pasta or sweets) and had much better luck. The main thing about PCO is the insulin intolerance that causes the infertility and other problems.
I know a girl who has PCOS, and NO problem getting pregnant. She's been pregnant 2 times with no help from doctors.
I have PCOS and am currently pregnant with baby #3. All concieved naturally. Having PCOS doesn't nessicarily mean you can't concieve on your own. It just means you don't ovulate regularly. My drs. told me as long as you have your cycle it means you're ovulating, which means you can get pregnant, without clomid. There is a slightly higher risk of multiples when you take Clomid. Has your dr. discussed taking metformin? Its a diabetic drug but its also used to treat PCOS. It will help you body ovulate naturally without fertillity drugs. Good Luck either way you go.
I have PCOS, 2 wonderful children and 1 on the way.
not pregnant yet. but it sounds like your doc is giving you the best first line medical approach to conceive which is clomid and metformin. many women have success with it.

i'm not at the clomid point yet, but best of luck to you.
