Negitive pregnancy test, but still late?

i took a pregnancy test about two days ago, which was two days after my missed period. it was a very faint negative line but i still have not gotten my period. i had unprotected sex about three times when i was ovulating and have no symptoms of pregnancy but i have never had an irregular period in about four years. besides saying take another test what else could be the cause of this. i have been very curious why i have not gotten my period when there is a very very good chance i am pregnant but i have gotten a negative test..

Sometimes our bodies do weird things when we are looking to be PG, including making our periods late.
I was always regualr like clockwork, and the 2nd month I tired to conceive, I was 2 days late! I was freaked out, and it really screws with your head!

The other reason is, of course, is that you are indeed PG. In this case, it's possible that you have not produced enough hormones to be detected on a cheap HPT. This happens to many people, but I think it's a less likely scenario.

Be thankful, and use protection from now on.

Take the morning after pill (works for up to 72 hours after unprotected sex). You can get it from a pharmacist without prescription.

It might just be too early for a home pregnancy test to pick it up. Try again when your period is a week late. Good luck!
