Did the lower dose of Lamictal during my Bipolar X-wifes pregnancy significantly contribute to her leaving?

My wife of 6 months who is do to have my daughter in June left a month ago to move back in with her parents where she has lived her whole life. She left one weekend to visit her parents, and decided not to come back. Our marriage wasn't perfect but I thought it was good and I gave her everything I had, but she eventually chose her parents over me in the end and asked for a divorce so she could be with her dad. Shes 26 but they treat her like she is 10 except with no responsibilities. So my question is this, she has an extreme case of Bipolar disorder or maybe even a narcisistic disorder the more I look at it, and was taking a lot of medications. She was taking 400 mg of Lamictal, 4 mg of Klonipin, 300 mg of Wellbutrin and she was only 104 lbs. After becoming pregnant (140 lbs) she cut back to 100 mg of Lamictal 1 to 0.5 Klonipin and I think the same does of Wellbutrin. Did this drop in doseage contribute SIGNIFICANTLY to her erradict behavior? I filed like she asked me Wed.

Her parents live 4 hours away and during the 6 months we were married she visited them almost 2 months. Her illness or medication might not be the problem but her parents. Her father is her best friend and she is his, and can easily be called emotional incest. Her mother works as a teacher but does all the housework bills etc while he is a writer and works at home. I often suspected her of resenting my job because I had to leave her during the day, and while she was pregnant I didn't want her to work because she is very sick. In her house, mom and dad won't talk about anything negative which is great unless you need to talk about something serious like divorce and a baby. They refuse to talk to me and repeat "You and Nancy just need to take care of yourselves"? My family is the opposite, we all communicate. I knew this and distanced myself from friends and family because I was her only friend, but was in love so I liked being her "man". Wasn't perfect but gave 90% to marriage

Psych meds aren't by weight.

Maybe. Pregnancy can be very rough on women with bipolar. Dropping stabilizers that much can be destabilizing as well. Major life changes can also be destabilizing. Marriage and moving both qualify. The combination of all these could have destabilized her enough to want/need to return to the safest place she knew. I guess a big question is whether she is stable right now. If she is, then her decision on the divorce would be rational and not necessarily due to the meds. That doesn't mean that it's not influenced by family or other issues (personality disorder, whatever). If she is not stable (manic, depressed, mixed, whatever), then it's not a rational decision, and yes, may be all about the life changes and reduction in meds.

PS - per what you added on, I'd guess that this is all about family tentacles and not her med changes or illness.

i guess you are stupid.arent you?

to sum it up SHES PREGNANT!!!!! my emotions were like a roller coaster...there were many times i was mad at my bf and i didnt want to be around, but if he tried to leave i flipped out more.i ..... all i can say is her emotions are all out of wack and it sounds like she does have some sort of mental problem cuz of the meds shes takin and im sure being pregant and on meds im sure make her very emotional...i do remember takin out alot of anger towards my bf (which i have apologized a million times)cuz he was there you know...even though i knew he would be there for me i was still scared(of being a mother, was he gonna leave me is i get fat) ..so maybe she feels safe with her dad i dont know....you should really keep trying to talk to her and be there for her. ...but i dont know your whole situation ..i hope this can sorta of help you..and remember shes pregnant...shes needs some TLC and know that people are helping her through the pregnancy
