If I'm currently miscarrying a baby, would a pregnancy test still be positive?

I've have abnormal bleeding recently and although I initially thought it was my period, I'm now wondering if I'm going through a miscarriage instead. If I took a pregnancy test now, would it still come out positive if I was miscarrying? If I am having a miscarriage, I think I would just want to know rather than just assuming one way or another. Thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, I am going to call my dr tomorrow but if I can take a pregnancy test tonight, I will at least be putting my mind at ease a little bit because I will know what's causing this.

yes because the hCG levels (the hormone that you produce only when you are pregnant) will still show up on the test since youve been producing them since you got pregnant.. (even if there is a miscarriage, the hormone would still be there).

I actually agree with rebekah g....this is a serious issue and should be taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

i believe the test would still be positive but, you really need to call your doc asap.

you should proble go to a hospital and stop asking ? on the net
