Will the pill protect me from pregnancy...? |
if i took it about the third day into my period? i have been taking it for about 5 days now. will the contraceptive effect be immediate? i took the active pills during my period. not the sugar pills. No you should take the pill on the first day of your period to be covered immediately, so use a condom to be safe, this will also protect you against STI's and STD's. You only take the sugar pills during your period which means if you have sex during your period there is a chance you may get pregnant. If you have been on the pill for a while now then you will be covered straight away as soon as you start taking the hormone pill again when you period finished. However, if youve just started the pill you should be using a condom for at least the first week just to allow the hormones in the pill to "regulate you". Do you think that the manufacturers of the contraceptive pill make them in packs of 28 because it looks pretty??? Well I can tell you they do not. Therefore you must take them as prescribed why you had to try and change that is beyond me. But to answer your question, no you are not protected although highly unlikely that you will get pregnant. If it does not suit you taking the pill why not go for something like the implant and then its one thing less to worry and mess about with. Also you should be using condoms as well if not in a long term relationship. Hope this helps NO and it is not 100% either and it doesn't protect you against STDs like syphillis, gonnorhea, venereal warts, herpes, AIDS/HIV, etc. You need to use condoms to protect against those. Either refuse the guy if he doesn't buy them or buy them yourself and INSIST he use them. depends. every womans body regulates differently (even if they menstrate at the same time). If you've only been on the pill a short time, be extra cautious for now. And continue to be extra cautious even months from now even if you don't want a baby... Not at all. You are supposed to start the pill AFTER your period stops. And you have to wait two weeks, when it's taken correctly. I think you have to take it for a while before it takes affect. I know I started taking it about three months before I got married, but the newer pills may be different. |
