Have you ever wondered why pregnancy and childbirth are so painful?

Have you ever wondered why pregnancy and childbirth are so painful?

Nothing worth having comes easy I guess! I told my husband that if I had to go through birthing each of our kids, the least he could do was buy me some expensive jewellery to make up for it. He's currently scouring the jewellery shops for a gift as I'm having our third!

Nope, I know. It basically boils down to the fact that you have a parasite in your body for 9 months, leeching nutrients from your body and distorting the shape of your spine. Not to mention the fact that all of your internal organs have to be moved around to make room while the baby grows. Then there's the fun part of getting the baby out of an impossibly small area that has to stretch to accomodate.
I can deal with everything except the heartburn.

Oh and to respond to the previous answer--how selfish! The birth of the child should be reward enough without forcing your husband to buy you something. The baby is much more important than jewelry!
