How accurate are at home pregnancy tests? |
Okay, I am 15 days late on my period. I was taking birth control last month and then stopped after my last period. I have taken two of the at home tests and both were negative. Am I just late, due to being off birth control, or what is the deal? Home tests aren't always very accurate. the best way to know for sure is to have a doctor do a test to see. You're probably just late, but check with somebody to make sure. When I got pregnant I called the Dr's office and said the home test was positive. She said congratulations, that means you're pregnant! I said Don't you need to do some other test in the office? She said no, they'd just do a test like the home test. home tests can be dodgey so i would advise you to get a blood test done at your doctors or a urine test at a family planning clinic or doctor's surgery, as anything performed by medical professionals has to be accurate x the best thing to do is get a blood test they are never wrong..sometimes the take home ones are not accurate...go to your GYN |
