Can you take a pregnancy test during your period or menstrual cycle.?

Can you take a pregnancy test during your period or menstrual cycle.?

yes you can. clear blue pregnancy test actually tells you to take the test on the first day of your period.

and you can still have periods whilst pregnant...for the people below.

pink_jakey's answer is incorrect.
Bleeding during pregnancy does occur for some women but is not caused by menstruation. Such bleeding can sometimes indicate a complication so you should contact your midwife or doctor. See below:

Your menstrual cycle is always happening unless you are pregnant, on certain forms of birth control or you have reach menopause. It doesn't end and then begin again. That's why it's called a cycle.
Your period is one phase of the menstrual cycle. You could use a pregnancy test during your period but it would be redundant because if you are having your period you are not pregnant. Not having their period is actually the most common way that women find out about an unplanned pregnancy.

Yes you can. The test is checking the HCG hormone. And contrary to what some have stated you can still be pregnant and have a period. It's not common but it can happen. Don't be fooled. If you think your pregnant see your Dr and get a blood test which is a much more accurate test for HCG.

if you have your period you aren't pregnant. If you're concerned that you have spotting, and not an actual period, yes you can take it during your period. I would use first response.

I don't know if being on your period would have any affects on a Home pregnancy. I did have a friend who bleed as if she had her period. The first 3 months of her pregnancy. If you are worried that you are pregnant you can have your doctor do a blood test.

Well, sometimes women do have a very light 'period' a couple of weeks or so after becomming pregnant. If you suspect this is the case for you, then a pregnancy test would still show positive.

Yes, you can take it while on your cycle but if it is completely normal, than there is no need for a pregnancy test. If you only have spotting and it is irregular then take the test.

You take a pregnancy test a week before your missed period or after your missed period. Taking it while having your period defeats the purpose of a pregnancy test because you already know your not pregnant!

if your on your period chances are your not pregnant so dont even waste the money on a test unless your period is unnormal.... if thats the case then wait a week after your period ends for best results.

if your having your period... your not pregante... duuu

Why would you? You obviously aren't pregnant.. so you'd just be wasting your time and the test.

um, if you've got your period chances are you don't need to take a pregnancy test...

If you have your period, ur not pregnant

period=not pregnant

Why would you need a pregnancy test if you have your period??

If you have your period that month your not pregnant

Why would you? You're not pregnant since you have your period.

What would be the point? If you're on your period you're not pregnant.

i dont see why not, but your period stops with pregnancy.

if you are on your period....you arent preggo

No

why would u need to? isnt the blood kinda a hint ur NOT pregnant?
