Wife had a pregnancy pap done..?

Ok, my wife had a pap a couple weeks back cause she's pregnant, and we found out that we now have HPV.

My question is, do they test for Herpes at the same time? We've been together a lil over a year, and I figured if I had it before I was with her, I would've passed it on, and it would've come up in the test. But now I'm worried, since I'm showing herpes like symptoms.

The pap smear won't show herpes, normal pregnancy gynecologic screening includes the pap/hpv, gonorrhea, chlamidya. As well, blood is tested for HIV (with consent), syphillis, rubella immunity, and hep b.

If you have a concern with herpes it's something to bring up with your obstetrician. Typically it doesn't become a problem with pregnancy unless there's active sores around the vagina at the time of the delivery, and usually that just means there needs to be a c-section to prevent neonatal herpes.

Nope, they don't They usually don't test for herpes unless you specifically request it. Even if you request STD tests, herpes is not usually included. You both need to go back and get tested!
