How effective is teaching abstinence-only in preventing pregnancy?

With all other methods of birth control, it is easy to compare effectiveness. Here's a link to planned parenthood:

Have any studies been done to see how effective it is to teach abstinence-only?

yeah my entire high school was a study on that. we had that "abstinence only" **** and most of the girls got preggo before they turned 18. haha...

Teaching abstinence only isn't all that great, because eventually kids want to have sex, and then they don't know what to do, and a kid is born. You should teach all methods of prevention, so kids know what to do. But you should stress abstinence, cuz its 100%

It doesn't work and it probably never will. Teens know they could get pregnant, they just don't think it'll happen to them.
