What is the perfect lotion to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy? |
What is the perfect lotion to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy? There is nothing that is scientifically proven to stop stretch marks from forming during pregnancy. Supposedly however, cocoa butter is supposed to help maintain the elasticity of your skin and will lessen the chance of stretch mark formations. Palmers Cocoa Butter helps..but you can't prevent them completely Palmers makes this great coco butter lotion specifically for stretch marks. It has a pregnant woman on the front. I have used it twice a day and still do not have one mark. I am 31 weeks... No lotion can prevent it, it will just make it a little less noticeable. Oh don't we all wish it was that simple! Using cocoa butter and vitamin e oil can help them fade quicker. The truth is, stretch marks have more to do with your skin's elasticity and heredity. If you are healthy then your skin will be more elastic and you are less likely to have stretch marks. If your mom has them, you are likely to have them. Don't worry... consider them battle scars. The baby will be worth a few stretch marks! And once they fade, they aren't that noticable in most women. Experience and research Unfortunately, preventing stretch marks with lotion is somewhat of a myth. Some people recommend using a lotion with cocoa butter, but really the stretch all have to do with your own body make up. Some people also say its hereditary, but I know a lot of mothers, daughters, and sisters that all react completely different with pregnancy stretch marks. |
