Does douching with just water.post sex.reduce the risk of pregnancy....ive heard mixed opinions....? |
should i discourage my gf from this practice?? Douching is the rinsing out of the vagina with a solution, such as water and vinegar. Douching is not a method of birth control. In fact, doctors recommend against douching as a way to prevent pregnancy. Douching is not effective as a method of birth control because sperm are extremely fast swimmers - hundreds of thousands of them can reach the uterus before a girl even begins to douche. In addition, the pressure of the liquid squirted into the vagina can even push sperm into the uterus. Also, by douching, a girl can increase her risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Most women douche in an to attempt to cleanse the vaginal area. But even this is not a good idea. The vagina has its own natural cleaning system that flushes out bacteria. So not only do the chemicals and perfumes in feminine sprays and douches not help, they can actually cause problems like allergic reactions or infections in the vagina. Your question confuses me.... GOOD LUCK! LuvCarly No it dosen't work. Your best bet is not to have sex at all if you don't want to get pregnant. All that will do is give the little swimmers a LOT of help reaching their destination. Wrap it up!!!! NO! This does not reduce the risk of pregnancy! Use protection! It can reduce the chance of pregnancy but should not be used a s a form of contraception. probley wont make a difference but it cant really hurt, and anyway, *** kinda smells so it a cleanliness thing too. |
