Has anyone missed a period on brith control then failed a pregnancy test? |
It wasnt a way cheap pregnancy test. Im about two weeks late and the test was a "clear blue easy" its supposed to be accurate within 5 days before your missed period. I wonder what method of birth control you're using? Skipping periods on some pills, and definitely on a progestin only method like Depo, is normal. And skipping periods for a million other reasons...stress, extreme weight loss/gain, STD...can happen, too. It is on a very rare occasion that a pregnancy test is inaccurate. You may wish to try again, using the first urine of the day, when your hormones will be most concentrated. Or else, go to your doctor for a conclusive blood test. I doubt you're pregnant, but if you have pretty regular periods, you may want to chat about it with your doctor. Depending how old you are, I'd say it was okay. As always, call your doc, but your prolly still young, and I get the shot that is supposed to take away your period... but after about 2 months I (very lightly) bleed, so it's not always gonna go as planned. Call the doc, I'm sure your fine. Remember, birth control isn't 100% effective and if it's not taken/used properly then it's effectiveness is even lower. If you've missed a period and gotten a positive on a preg test, then call your doc or go to your local health clinic and have them do a blood pregnancy test. |
