What are some good exercises I can do to regain my pre-pregnancy body? |
I gained about 40 lbs while I was pregnant and I'm having a hard time losing the weight (diet alone isn't doing it.) I gained a lot of weight in my thighs and arms (and of course my belly.) What are some good exercises I can do at home to regain my pre-pregnancy body? Thank you :) Diet is a huge factor, also if you are not breast feeding start, this shedds the pounds faster. Also, cardio, begin moderatly then pick it up a notch. Begin with 20-30 min per day just walking, then try to jog a bit, and adding intervals of high intesensity! By week two you should try and aim to do 45-60 min 5-6 times per week, and begin to lift light weights, this will get your metabolism going faster. Try and eat 5-6 small meals per day 40-40-20/ 40g of carbs 40g of protein and 20g fat, all food should be clean, meaning foods that are as close to there natural state as possible. For example instead of a breaded chicken breast opt for grilled skinless chicken, raw veggies instead of canned, and whole fruit instead of juiced. This is all very hard to take in at first expecially with a new baby, but try your best and you can even buy a good quality jogging stroller to take the little one with you, so you don't feel your away from your baby too much while trying to lose the baby weight. Good Luck! I would say do a lot of cardio and weights for your arms. ive read in magazines about denise richards and what she did when she had the after-baby body and she said that she did lots of ab excersies and if you wanna burn fat you have to burn more than you eat, 2000 is a healthy way to go for daily calories, just divide them up so 333 cal, 6 meals a day and also do lots of strength training and CARDIO, you can never get enough of cardio Any type of aerobic exercise that will increase heart rate and result in fat burning. Eat 6 times a day to speed metabolism (3 meals, 3 snacks). If you can, add weight training to increase muscle mass (the more muscle you have, the more fat your body burns). I would suggest circuit training. |
