Do you think parents even offer to tell their kids about sex, pregnancy, std's and life in general any more?

i am 35, and i have a 13 year old daughter that knows every thing about the birds and bees, aids, std's, and rape, and street wise knowledge...i know that she needed to know and started informing her at the age of 8....she knows exactly what not to do, and what to do if she just can not resist...use a condom. She is still a virgin....and i am proud that i have taught her my knowledge from my youth to help her in hers. Source(s): my mother never told me anything, and i have told my daughter probably too much, but at least she is informed well.
I did with my older children and will be with my 5 year old when he is ready. So yes I am sure they do
Yes, in fact, more parents are telling their children about those things these days than before. Hence the description of clueless children as having "conservative" parents. Even if the parents didn't tell their children, the children's teachers would certainly discuss those topics in school.
it seems that there are some that do but it also seens that a lot would rather their kids learn about sex from other sourses; ie, school, television, other kids. i also see that the reason for this is because the parents don't know or understand that much about sex eather or that is some kind of religious tabo which prohibits teaching about sex, or the parents are just too lazy...ooops! i mean too busy to give that time to their kids
if not i think kids are more educated about it anyways...i found out more from magazines and books compared to what my parents and teachers told me.
Not lucidly. Maybe they wait until the kid has found out and then tell him. Better late than never, I'd say. Except there are few parents who actually understand what all that is really about Because their parents didn't know or didn't want to encourage them to do it or warned them about it instead of preparing them for it. Etc. Etc.

Somehow our species continues though, regardless of the confusion that seems to be our heritage.
