Last year i was on pills to lower my HCG levels, would this affect pregnancy tests and can i get pregnant now? |
As it says, i was put on medication to lower my HCG (pregnancy hormone levels) last year, before i knew i was pregnant, i then went on to have a stillborn baby, i was just wondering if anyone knew if these HCG tablets could stop me from getting pregnant now or affect pregnancy tests if im already pregnant?! HCG levels are what pregnancy tests detect to indicate pregnancy. I would think you could have false positive results. not sure, but good luck with getting pregnant, hope it works out. I have to admit that I don't understand this question. As far as I knew HCG is the hormone that is produced when you are pregnant - your body doesn't produce it when you're not - so why would you be taking pills to reduce it before being pregnant? Also, it's important that HCG levels are not lowered because this can cause miscarriage. I'm absolutely not a medical person, so there could easily be an explanation, but I'm a bit confused. I think it's very important that you go and see your doctor, especially if you suspect that you may be pregnant. You don't want to risk another stillbirth again. Good luck, hope everything works out xxx |
