Can I get rid of stretch marks that I got 8 years ago due to pregnancy?

The marks are flesh colored and feel more like indentation. I was 20 lbs under weight when I got pregnant in 1998, due to an eating disorder. I am recovering fom my eating disorder. So I gained to much weight. My weigh is down to 130 for 5'6' but these marks are ugly.

There are these magical brushes that you can get from most drugs stores and beauty places. When you use them, you rub them arouns your skin and they increase the circulation, getting more blood to the skin and providing it with more blood and oxygen. You could also try eating iron and zinc rich foods. Vitamin C is also fab for your skin.

Stretch marks will never completely go away, they are scars. You can diminish their appearance with lotions like cocoa butter and such. They will gradually fade over time and become less noticable. The only way to totally get rid of them is lazer removal, I think.
If you're genetically prone to get stretch marks (you are if you already have stretch marks elsewhere) it's unlikely you'll be able to completely prevent them during pregnancy. Take a moment to think about this: your uterus has now stretched to such unholy proportions that it now extends beyond your navel! The not-so-exciting part of this remarkable fact is that growth like this tends to leave stretch marks and can itch like nobody鈥檚 business. If it makes you feel any better, stretch marks on the belly are extremely common. Don鈥檛 get suckered into buying really expensive creams that supposedly make stretch marks 鈥榤agically disappear.' Stretch marks are scars on your skin and won鈥檛 disappear with a topical cream. But feel free to apply all the aloe-vera (and other anti-itch lotions) to alleviate the itching. In terms of preventing their appearance, cocoa butter-based creams and creams full of Vitamin E have a reputation for helping-- but there's still no guarantee that those pesky stretch marks won't show up despite your best creaming-up efforts.

there is nothing that you can do to take away stretch marks except for surgery.
Cocoa butter is used for both preventing stretch marks and treating them. If the weight gain is due to pregnancy, the cocoa butter should be rubbed daily on the affected area. Cocoa butter should be applied to the skin soon after a warm water bath, when the pores are open and the cocoa butter is easily absorbed. Shea butter may also be used instead of cocoa butter.
