I haven't had a period since March 8 2007, negative hpt & blood tests for pregnancy, what is wrong with me?


I havent had a period since March 8, I've taken several hpt's and also got a blood pregnancy test, they all have come out negative! Could there be any other reason that it hasn't come? Is this normal?

There are many many different things that can throw your period off. Have you been tested for thyroid function, PCOS or homone levels? Are you usually regular and just irregular this month? Have you gained or lost a lot of weight lately? These are all things to consider with your doctor.
maybe you should get a second opinion from someone else.
If you have had sex, it is possible you're experiencing an ectopic or "tubal" pregnancy, which does not always show up on at home pregnancy tests.

Also, if you are (or have been) extremely stressed, it is VERY likely that it delayed your period. I didn't used to believe the whole stress/late period correlation, but it happened to me and I was three weeks late because of it. It is very real.

How old are you and how much do you weigh? Malnutrition commonly causes missed periods.

Perimenopause can start in some people as early as the 30's.
When I was trying to get pregnant there were months when I skipped a period. My midwife said some people do that. Stress, illness & nutrition can all play roles in how often you have periods. If you are concerned and don't have one soon you should see your gyno. Don't take chances with your health. Here's a link to webmd.com where you can check your symptoms for missed periods.
