How long should you wait after you would normally start your cycle to take a pregnancy test? |
I am not on any form of birth control. I did have cramps several days ago, but never started. I usually start the next day or so after having cramps. I haven't had any spotting or discharge. Some pregnancy test manufacturers claim you do the test the day after your period is due. The longer you wait, the more likely it is to be accurate - you're less likely to get a false negative result, because the concentration of the pregnancy hormones will be greater. The best time to do a test is first thing in the morning, because your urine is more concentrated in the morning. Many tests are sensitive enough to give results when you expect your period. The tests out now you can take as soon as 4 days before your period. Most are sensitive enough that if you are supposed to start soon, it will show up. If it doesn't and you still haven[t started a week after, test again. Sometimes the hormones aren't strong enough to show even after you were supposed to start. Do you have anything else that is going on? Bloating? Sore breasts? These are things to watch for too. Ob/Gyn Physician Assistant there are some tests that you can use before your menses, and some that you can use now , some over the counter test are more sensitive that others, maybe use EPT they worked for me. If you have not had sex or let a boys penis come into contact with your Virgina you can not be pregnant. But you can do a pregnancy test on the same day you were due to start your period to find out if you are pregnant as you are having sex i suggest you go on the pill or take other precautions to stay safe unless you are trying for a baby in which case goodluck the month after you have sex after your period comes or is supposed to then you most likely don't waste your well earned money but if you can't wait a week or so after having sex |
