If a woman who has had her tubes tied get pregnant what are the chances of the pregnancy going well? |
If a woman who has had her tubes tied get pregnant what are the chances of the pregnancy going well? The chances of getting pregnant after a tubal ligation are extremely low. Like less than 1%. But if it does happen, since your tubes aren't involved after fertilization, it would probably be a normal pregnancy. then what is the point of getting your tubes tied? As far as I know it shouldnt affect the pregnancy, but I would most definitely go and chat to the surgeon who performed the operation. As for my money back. Hope she is happy about it. Sorry to be naive. But if you get your tubes tied, and DO get pregnant, won't it be stuck in the tubes? By having the tubal ligation, you've blocked the path for the egg to reach the uterus. What you would end up with is a tubal pregnancy - and they are painful, dangerous and from what I know - don't turn into a true pregnancy. I would talk to your Dr. - But that's basically how it was explained to me when I had my tubes tied. i know of a woman that got pregnant with her tubes tied. Her tubes had been tied for several years. However, she lost her baby. Ok, some people should read the question BEFORE answering! I know TWO women this happened to...BOTH had normal pregnancies, (although one had no idea she was pregnant until like the 6th mth), normal babies and they are thriving. BTW...they were Both "tied, cut & burned" ~~for others~~the egg "excapes" the ligatation...goes through the tubes, does not get stuck. |
