My wife is pregnant and she hasn't been able to sleep at night. Before her pregnancy she took ambien to sleep Ambien is in the pregnancy catagory B. which means it has not been tested on people. You should ask her doctor, do not take anything while pregnant without first consulting her doctor. You may want to call your local pharmacy and ask the pharmicist what he/she thinks. Most Pharmacies are open 24 hours and you can just call and ask to speak with the pharmacist. I have a feeling he/ she will tell you what most of have- "ask her doctor." Meanwhile if she cant take anything try taking a warm bath (thats what helped me sleep at night while pregnant) or if your a good husband ( which you sound like you are) a massage for a pregnant woman is bliss! Just have her lay on her side NOT on her tummy, unless you put a pillow under one side to allow circulation to her and the baby. I hope she gets sleep soon...shes gonna need it! Good Luck! tell her to consult her doctor about taking prescription meds during her pregnancy. it's very dangerous. My doctor allowed me to take tylenol pm, but she should consult her doctor. Definitely ask her doctor, but I was prescribed Ambien during the last week of my pregnancy when I couldn't sleep due to contractions. |
