Could you tell me the right amount of Multi vitamin Tablets & Folic acic tablets to be taken before pregnancy? |
I am planning for pregnancy,i have started taking 800 MCG of Folic Acid and Centrum Balanced Formula Multivitamin Tablets IS it ok to take 800 MCG of Folic acid before pregnancy? My Centrum Multivitamin Tablet also contain 200 MCG Of Folic Acid.So I take both of these tablets alternatively to avoid overdose of Folic Acid. But My Centrum Multivitamin Tablet does not meet the RDI Standard, will it be benefcial or i have to change my multivitamin ? Do I have to take it daily?Taking 1000 MCG of Folic acid is ok or not before pregnancy? You have decided to become a Mom! Congratulations!! I appreciate your eagerness to fortify yourself before becoming pregnant with a child. Are you so anaemic that you have to take all these vitamins/folic acids? Excessive intake of vitamins/folic acids is harmful. The right way to do it to consult your gynaecologist. She/he will check you up and prescribe, if necessary, the requisite vitamins/folic acids. For the time being please maintain proper diet regimen. Instead of doing all of that you should just buy a prenatal vitamin. It has the correct amount of folic acid and all of the other vitamins that you need for a healthy pregnancy. We are trying to conceive as well and I take a generic prenatal vitamin from Target. It is very inexpensive and it has the same amount of everything that the leading brand. If that isnt for you, you should ask your dr. to prescribe you a prenatal vitamin. You are only suppose to take 800 mcg of folic acid. I am glad that you are going about this the right way! Good luck! go to ur gynecologist and proper guidence. pls do this for welfare of both of u |
