What are some reasons why a female wouldn't get her period at the age of 23 beside pregnancy? |
I have taken several tests over that last month, and all come up negative... I am over a month late, what is causing me to miss my period?? I take it you are not on "the shot" or you would have disclosed that. Sometimes (with many women) it ceases menstruation. The other folks gave some pretty good answers, though I do not consider it a blessing when I am missing a period. This is a woman's only indication that her body is working properly and on schedule (providing she has all working reproductive organs), so you are right to be concerned. Try relaxing...get some rest, and make sure you are not skipping meals. Also make sure that your pelvic exam is current. I would not advise anyone to go without a "pap" for more than a year. The doctor can tell a lot with this particular exam, but you are probably already aware of this. Good luck! Definitely talk to your doctor about it. There are medical issues that might cause your period to be late...You should get checked just to be on the safe side. have your thyroid checked. If a woman is very athletic, anorexic or if she has something like PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) amenorrhea can occur, but only your Dr. (OB/GYN) can tell you for certain. Because at 23 you should still be drinking non-alcoholic beverages every night |
